“Property price growth in key UK cities has picked up pace with annual growth running at 8.5%, up from 7.2%, according to the latest index from real estate analytics firm Hometrack. Growth over the last three months of 4.3% is at the fastest rate for 11 years, the data from the index, which covers 20 main cities, shows.”
“The number of remortgage loans rose 47% between June and July – the highest figure seen since November 2008. LMS estimates that the value of monthly gross remortgage lending increased by 41% to £7.2bn in July, and rose by 89% from July last year. This is the largest amount since October 2008 and is a massive boost to the industry following a slow start to the year for remortgaging.”
